Renovations/Restorations
One of the great things we find in Northeast ohio, is the diversity in architecture. Gable, Mansard, Gambrel, Dutch Gable, half-hipped rooflines trimmed in hundreds of different styles. Unique ginger bread trim, eyebrow dormers, REAL shutters, one hundred year old clapboard siding... you can find any style you like around here.
Now, sometimes this classic structure and trim begins to deteriorate to the point of needing pieces replaced. You may also want to build an addition of some kind but you want to maintain the integrity of the original design.
Dave Thomas and Sons Construction understands the importance of restoring a legacy home to the original intent. We pride ourselves on the knowledge of the different styles and our ability to reproduce moldings and fillegre trim to match the existing trim.
Most of the pictures on the site here are from the restoration of, and addition to, the old Bierce Homestead, (Henry Bierce, founder of Bierce Hardware in Tallmadge, Ohio). It's difficult to see where the old ends and the new begins.
